“IT TOOK US FOUR YEARS TO GRADUATE FROM AUBURN AND THE NEXT 25 TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET BACK!”

Brian and Kim Wirth, owners and operator of The Collegiate Hotel at Auburn

In town for an Auburn recruiting event, I saw a For Sale sign in front of Auburn’s historic Wittel Dorm. I called the listing agent, then Brian and within a week we had an offer on the property and began this amazing journey to bring a historic, boutique hotel to Auburn.

“THE CRAZY THING IS, IT DOESN’T SEEM CRAZY”

The transformation of Wittel Hall into The Collegiate Hotel combines our love of historic renovations, family and all things Auburn.  Turning in job notices at two wonderful companies and then moving our three AMAZINGLY UNDERSTANDING teenagers from our home outside of Memphis to our new home in Auburn meant we were living All In!

“CARRYING ON TRADITIONS WHILE CREATING NEW ONES”

Wittel Hall was built by the Wittel family in the early 1940’s as the first private dorm for women at Auburn.  Family owned and operated by two generations of the Wittel’s it seems fitting we have a chance to carry on that tradition as active hotel owners and operators of The Collegiate Hotel.

“A CELEBRATION OF AUBURN’S PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE”

The hotel was lovingly designed and thoughtfully renovated with attention to 100’s of details that celebrate the rich history and traditions of Auburn University, the community and the historic Wittel Dorm.  We are truly grateful to the Auburn alums, amazing artists and the Wittel family who freely shared their talents and ideas. These collaborations resulted in one-of-a-kind art pieces and historic touches that celebrate our beloved Auburn and the Women of Wittel.

“A GRACIOUS COMMUNITY GATHERING SPACE ”

We had a focus on faith, family and friends when we created unique spaces like our CoHo  rooftop patio and the hotel’s expansive front porch. A place to gather and appreciate the beauty of Auburn and enjoy conversation and connection with others is the goal.   We hope to have a chance to meet when you drop by for a visit or a stay at The Collegiate. Until then we will leave you with a warm War Eagle!
